What does healthy mean to you?

Kale salads and granola? Running and FitBits? What does it all mean, really? There are so many different and correct answers. For me it is feeling strong and aging well. I want to be active and able as long as is possible. I want to be the best version of myself, year after year.

I want to defy the odds of obesity, disability, and premature death. I want to look great, naturally, for as long as possible.

I find this in the foods I eat and the barbell in my hands. I find this day after day when I am sweaty and exhausted, but so damn proud of what I can do. I find this when my children want to do pull ups like mommy and daddy. Knowing I am inspiring them, providing them with a role model that will serve them well, is not only rewarding, but my legacy.

What do you want your children to remember about you? What do you want to teach them? What do you want them to emulate. When you look in the mirror, are you proud of the person staring back at you? If you answered no to any of these, make that change today. Only you can.
